Karachi Kings become the worst team in PSL history

Karachi Kings have overall 43 defeats in seven editions of PSL, which is the most number of defeats


LAHORE: Karachi Kings set another unbeaten record after losing their ninth match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) this season on Sunday, the most by any team in a single edition. There are more losses.

Quetta Gladiators defeated them by 23 runs in the 28th match of the tournament played at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.

This was King's ninth defeat in PSL 7, making the team led by Babar Azam the first team in the history of the tournament to lose nine matches in a single edition.

Earlier, the record was held by Quetta Gladiators who lost eight matches in a single edition. The Gladiators performed this undeniable feat in the 2021 edition of the league.

Karachi Kings had earlier become the first team to lose eight matches in a row in the same edition of PSL. Earlier, they had won a satisfactory victory against Lahore Qalandars on Friday.

Their loss in nine matches is also the longest losing streak for any PSL team.

With just two points from 10 games, the Kings are out of the tournament playoffs.

Karachi Kings have suffered a total of 43 defeats in seven editions of PSL which is the most.

They are the only team to have lost more than 40 matches in a total of seven editions of the tournament.
