Afghanistan Taliban announces reopening of universities in the country

 Afghanistan's Minister of Higher Education Maulvi Abdul Baqi Haqqani has announced the resumption of educational activities in government universities and institutions of higher learning.





For the first time since the Taliban took power, universities have reopened and female students have been allowed to enter universities on the condition that they wear the burqa.



According to the International News Agency, after the announcement of the Taliban government's Minister for Higher Education, universities were opened in many areas today, while teaching in cold areas will start from February 26. According to the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Minister for Higher Education Maulvi Abdul Baqi. 

Speaking at a press conference in Kabul today, Haqqani announced the start of education in public universities across Afghanistan.



Today, on the first day, the attendance of female students was very low. The Taliban have instructed the girls to wear burqas while separate classes have been arranged for them. According to the announcement of the Afghan government, the teaching process in the government universities of the hot climate provinces of Afghanistan will start from February 2, while the government universities in the cold regions will open from February 26 and the teaching will start.
