According to foreign media reports, the head of the European Commission announced a complete ban on the use of European airspace by Russian flights on the fourth day of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The head of the European Commission said that "we are imposing a complete ban on the use of European airspace by Russian aircraft, under which there will be a complete ban on the use of European airspace by Russian-controlled, registered and owned aircraft."
He said any type of flight, including Russian private jets, would not be allowed to land or take off on European soil, while Russian planes would not be allowed to use British airspace.
Even before the European Commission's announcement, European countries had closed their airspace to Russian aircraft.
On the other hand, after the announcement of the European Commission, Russia's largest airline canceled all its flights to Europe.
